Indian rupee symbol has been decided in
this year 2010. This was a great innovation written in the golden pages of Indian
history. New rupee currency will start sporting this symbol. This innovation
will be a proud moment for all Indians. New rupee symbol which has been short
listed through a contest conducted by finance ministry of India. The winning
designer’s concept was based on the tricolour and arithmetic equivalence. The white
space between two horizontal lines gives the impression of the national flag
with the Ashoka chakra and the two parallel lines representing balance in the
economy both with in India and the other economies of the world. The winning
designer is the IIT post graduate D.Udayakumar.
