MAULANA ABDUL KALAM MUHIYUDDIN AHMED, was one of the real political leader of the Indian independence and was the first minister of education of the Indian government. He popularly known as MAULANA AZAD,his contribution towards the foundation of Indian education realizing by celebrating his birthday through out India.He criticized British raj by publishing works and served as the youngest president of the Indian national congress in 1923.

AZAD was involved in creating national education system with free and basic education and modern institutions of higher education and also he founded University Grands commission [UGC] which is monitoring and promoting higher education in India.
